How clients agree to text messages
Program name: Broombook appointment texts. Sent by cleaning businesses that use Broombook, to their own clients and staff, about visits only. No marketing.
1. Clients opt in on the booking page
Every cleaning business on Broombook has a public booking page at broombook.com/book/[business], for example broombook.com/book/vinny-cleans. The client picks a cleaning and a time, then fills in their contact details. On that last step, right above the Request booking button, there is an optional checkbox. It is unchecked by default and booking works without it. This is exactly what it shows:
Full name
Mobile phone
Only clients who tick the box get texts. A business can also record that a client agreed in person or by phone; the client is then marked as agreeing in their file, with the date.
2. Owners and cleaners opt in in the app
The business owner and their cleaners get alerts about their own bookings and schedule only after entering their own mobile number in their Broombook settings and turning text alerts on.
What people get
- Booking request received, booking confirmed
- A reminder the day before a visit
- A visit moved or cancelled, a request declined
- A note when the visit is done, a request to review it
- A payment that did not go through
- Replies between the client and the business
Usually 2 to 4 texts per visit. Message and data rates may apply. Every text starts with the name of the cleaning business, for example: “Vinny Cleans: reminder, cleaning tomorrow at 9am. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Help and stopping
