What makes a good cleaning slogan?
A good cleaning slogan is short, makes one clear promise, sounds like a real person said it, and is true for your business. If a stranger reads it on a van at a red light, they should know what you do and why you are worth calling.
People hire a house cleaner for a few reasons: they want time back, they want to trust whoever is in their home, they want it done properly, and they like hiring someone local. The strongest cleaning business slogans pick one of those reasons and say it plainly.
Slogan or tagline?
People use the words loosely, and that is fine. A useful way to think about cleaning business taglines and slogans:
| Tagline | Slogan | |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Sits under your name and logo, says who you are | Sells one idea in an ad, flyer or post |
| How long you keep it | Years | Can change by campaign or season |
| Example | “Neighbors cleaning for neighbors.” | “Spring openings in Maple Park this week.” |
A quick checklist
- Three to seven words, easy to say out loud.
- One promise, not a list of services.
- Plain words a client would use, not industry jargon.
- True today, not someday.
- Different from the other cleaners in your town.
- Still readable on a business card and from across a parking lot.

Slogans about getting your time back
Time back is the most common reason people hire a cleaner, so it is the safest angle for busy families and working professionals. These slogans sell the free evening or weekend, not the mop.
- Your weekend called. It wants you back.
- Come home to done.
- More Saturdays, fewer sponges.
- We scrub. You unwind.
- Clean house, free evenings.
- Give your to-do list a day off.
- Hours back in your week, every week.
- Skip the chores, keep the shine.
- You live here. We handle the cleaning.
- Spend Sunday on you, not the shower.
- The clean you want, the time you need.
- Hand us the mop. Take back your weekend.
- Busy life, spotless home.
- Home tidy, mind easy.
- Walk in. Exhale.
- Clean home, clear calendar.
- Your free time, freshly restored.
- Leave for work. Come home to clean.
Best for: recurring weekly and every-two-weeks service, ads aimed at busy parents, and website headlines.
Slogans that build trust
Trust slogans reassure people about letting someone into their home. They work best when you can back them up: the same cleaner each visit, insurance, background checks, or clear prices. If a line names a fact, make sure it is true before you print it.
- Same cleaner, same care, every visit.
- We show up when we say we will.
- Trusted with your keys, careful with your home.
- Insured, background-checked and on time.*
- Your home, treated like our own.
- Careful hands for the place you love.
- Reliable as your morning coffee.
- The cleaner your neighbors recommend.*
- Honest prices, spotless results.
- Clear prices. No surprises. Just clean.
- We text before we knock.
- Locked up, cleaned up, all set.
- Know who is coming. Love what you come home to.
- Your keys are safe with us.
- Consistent people, consistent clean.
- Quiet, careful, and gone before you know it.
*Use these only if they are true. If you are not insured yet, sort that out first: the guide to cleaning business insurance explains what to buy and what clients usually ask for. “The cleaner your neighbors recommend” works once you actually have local reviews to point to.
Slogans about detail and quality
Detail slogans are for clients who have been let down by a rushed cleaner before. They promise the corners, baseboards and grout lines that cheaper services skip, so your work has to match.
- We clean the parts you never look at.
- Baseboards included. Always.
- Clean you can see. Fresh you can feel.
- From ceiling fans to floorboards.
- Every corner, every visit.
- The details are the job.
- Spotless is the standard.
- Top to bottom, edge to edge.
- Where the checklist meets the corners.
- Clean right down to the grout lines.
- If it collects dust, we have it covered.
- Shine where it shows, clean where it doesn’t.
- Quietly thorough.
- Checklist-clean, every single time.
- No missed spots. No shortcuts.
- Details, done right.
A detail promise is easier to keep with a written checklist for every room. The free cleaning checklist template gives your team the same list on every job.
Local and neighborly slogans
Local slogans tell people you live nearby, know the area and will still be around next year. Swap in your town, neighborhood or founding year. They are especially strong on door hangers, yard signs and neighborhood apps.
- [Town]’s neighborhood cleaners.
- Cleaning [Town], one street at a time.
- Your neighbors in clean.
- Local hands, sparkling homes.
- Proudly cleaning [Town] homes since [year].
- Born in [Town]. Cleaning [Town].
- The [Neighborhood] clean team.
- From [Street] to [Street], we have you covered.
- Neighbors cleaning for neighbors.
- Small team, big shine, right down the road.
- Family-run and [Town]-made.
- [Town] homes deserve this clean.
- Close by, on time, spotless.
- The friendly faces of a cleaner [Town].
Tip: a local slogan pairs well with a focused neighborhood push. Put it on a door hanger made with the free flyer maker and cover one neighborhood two or three times.
Funny cleaning slogans and puns
Funny slogans get noticed and remembered, which makes them great for social posts, vehicle wraps and T-shirts. Keep the joke kind and keep your contact details serious. A pun that makes people smile still needs a clear phone number or booking link beside it.
- We do windows. And everything else.
- Dust bunnies fear us.
- Sorry, dust. You have been evicted.
- Grime doesn’t stand a chance.
- Your mess is our mission.
- Making messes disappear since [year].
- Clean freaks, at your service.
- We came, we saw, we cleaned.
- Leave the dirty work to us.
- Tidy is our love language.
- No crumb left behind.
- Your vacuum can take the day off.
- Fluent in sparkle.
- Slightly obsessed with shine.
- Bye-bye grime. Hello gleam.
- We sweat the small stuff. And the sticky stuff.
Best for: Instagram and Facebook posts, vehicle magnets, staff shirts and the back of a business card.
Slogans for deep, move-out, rental, recurring and green cleaning
Service slogans sell one specific job, so they work in ads and on landing pages for that service rather than as your main tagline. Mix and match them with your business name and a price or booking link.
Deep cleaning
- The reset your home has been waiting for.
- Deep clean. Fresh start.
- For the spots that need more than a wipe.
- Back to almost brand new.
Move-in and move-out
- Move out. We handle the rest.
- Hand over the keys with confidence.
- Moving day, minus the scrubbing.
- Empty rooms, spotless finish.
- Start fresh in your new place.
Vacation rentals and Airbnb turnovers
- Ready for the next guest, every time.
- Checkout to check-in, handled.
- Turnovers that keep the reviews coming.
- Fresh sheets, fast turnovers.
- Your guests notice. So do we.
Recurring service
- Every other week, always on point.
- Set it once. Come home clean every time.
- Weekly clean, weekly calm.
- Same day, same time, same great clean.
- A clean home on repeat.
Green and low-fragrance cleaning (specific claims only)
- Fragrance-free cleaning on request.
- Microfiber cloths, not piles of paper towels.
- We bring our own vacuum with a HEPA filter.*
- Cleaned with products we will name for you.
- Tell us your sensitivities. We will plan around them.
*Only if true. Notice that none of the green lines says “eco-friendly” on its own. The reason is in the section on claims below. For more on running turnovers, see the Airbnb cleaning business guide.
Seasonal and campaign lines
- Spring cleaning, without the spring cleaning.
- Holiday-ready homes, guest-ready rooms.
- Back-to-school reset for the whole house.
- New year, fresh floors.
- Hosting this weekend? We have the prep.
- Openings this week in [Neighborhood].
How to write your own slogan in 20 minutes
Write your own slogan by listing what your best clients say about you, picking one benefit, and drafting a dozen short lines from simple formulas. Then cut hard until two or three remain. Twenty minutes and a notepad is enough.
- Collect your clients’ words (5 minutes). Reread your reviews and thank-you texts. Write down the exact phrases people use, such as “always on time”, “my house smells amazing” or “I finally have my Saturdays back”.
- Pick one angle (2 minutes). Time back, trust, detail, local, humor or a specific service. Choose the one that shows up most in your clients’ words and that competitors are not already using.
- Draft 12 lines from formulas (8 minutes). Do not judge yet.
- Cut to three (5 minutes). Cross out anything longer than seven words, anything a competitor could say just as truthfully, and anything you would feel silly saying to a client at the door.
Fill-in-the-blank formulas
| Formula | Example |
|---|---|
| [Benefit], [benefit]. | Clean house, free evenings. |
| We [do the work]. You [enjoy the result]. | We scrub. You unwind. |
| [Place]’s [kind of] cleaners. | Riverside’s neighborhood cleaners. |
| [Event], minus the [chore]. | Moving day, minus the scrubbing. |
| Every [unit], every [unit]. | Every corner, every visit. |
| Your [time] called. It wants you back. | Your weekend called. It wants you back. |
A worked example
Say your reviews keep mentioning that you send the same person every time and that clients come home relaxed. Your angle is trust plus time back. Drafts might include “Same face, same clean, every visit”, “Come home to someone you trust” and “The cleaner you only meet once”. The first is short, true and hard for a big rotating crew to copy, so it goes on the shortlist.
How to test a slogan and where to use it
Test a slogan by showing two or three finalists to real clients and by running them side by side on posts or flyers, then keep the one that gets more replies. Use the winner everywhere people see your brand, so it starts to stick.
Three cheap ways to test
- Ask five clients. Text: “I’m picking a slogan. Which of these sounds most like us? A, B or C?” Their pick, and their reasons, are often better than your own guess.
- Split a flyer run. Print half your door hangers with slogan A and half with slogan B, each with its own QR code or tracking phone number, and count the requests from each.
- Alternate social posts. Use the same photo with each slogan a week apart and compare messages and clicks, not likes.
Where to use your slogan
| Place | Tip |
|---|---|
| Website header | Right under your name, next to the booking button. |
| Business cards | Under the logo on the front, or alone on the back. The business card maker has room for one line. |
| Logo lockup | Short slogans fit under a logo made with the logo maker; long ones do not. |
| Vehicle, yard signs, shirts | Five words or fewer, big enough to read from a distance. |
| Email signature and invoices | A quiet reminder every time a client hears from you. |
| Google Business Profile | In the description, never in the business name. |
That last row matters. Google’s guidelines for representing your business say your name must not include marketing taglines, and adding one can get your profile suspended. Put the slogan in your description, photos and posts instead. For more on getting found locally, see how to get cleaning clients.
Claims to avoid and trademark checks
Before you print, make sure every promise in your slogan is true and specific, and search the federal trademark database for anyone already using something close in cleaning services. Both checks take less time than reprinting a van wrap.
Guarantee slogans
“100% satisfaction guaranteed” is popular, but it is a promise. The FTC’s guides on advertising guarantees say terms like “satisfaction guarantee” or “money back guarantee” should be used only if you refund the full price on request, and that any conditions should be disclosed clearly. Those guides are written around products, but the principle is a good rule for services too: if your slogan says “guaranteed”, spell out what you do, for example “Not happy? Tell us within 24 hours and we will reclean that area for free.”
Green claims
The FTC’s Green Guides say marketers should not make unqualified general environmental benefit claims such as “eco-friendly” on their own, because people read them as promising far-reaching benefits that are hard to prove. Say the specific thing instead: fragrance-free products, microfiber cloths, or the name of a certification your products actually carry.
Other promises to check
- “Insured” or “bonded”: only if you have the policy or bond today.
- “Background-checked”: only if every person you send has been checked.
- “#1 in [Town]” or “best”: avoid unless you can back it up.
- “Non-toxic”: hard to prove for every product you use; name the products or the specific benefit instead.
Trademark check
- Search the USPTO trademark search for your slogan and close variations, focusing on cleaning and janitorial services.
- Search Google and Facebook for the exact phrase in quotes, with and without “cleaning”.
- If you want to register your own slogan, know that the USPTO says phrases widely used in everyday speech to express an ordinary concept are likely to be refused, as are marks confusingly similar to existing ones. A distinctive line is easier to protect than “We clean, you relax”.
This is general information, not legal advice. If a slogan will go on a lot of printed material, a short consultation with a trademark attorney is cheap insurance.
